[OM]The War Patrols of U-46
 

Six years ago I put up an AAR here of a career in Operation Monsun while in command of U-47, titled, oddly enough, The War Patrols of U-47. The thread is in this subforum, although the images now have the photobucket nonsense on them.


After a long time silent running, I have returned to once again to take command, this time of U-46. I am documenting the patrols in an AAR on SimHQ. I would repost it here, but as SimHQ is hosting the images, it's poor form I reckon to steal their bandwidth by making the images visible here at Subsim.


Here's a link to the thread. U-46 has just returned from her third war patrol. Career played at full realism minus map contact updates, dead is dead. The AAR is written for a more general audience, not the hardened sub veterans on this board, so I take the time to detail attack and approach procedures and the like. I thought some folks might be interested in following our adventures. Comments welcome!

First nine patrols are up, and we move in to 1942. Nearly sunk on the last patrol, U-46 desperately needs the rumored Metox and a better torpedo than the TII G7e.
