ARB Wide Gui and my PC problem
 

Hi,

Sometimes, seems randomly, I’m loosing my anti aliasing using ARB Wide Gui 1920X1080...but only the game view, not the order bar and dials! :doh:
Image is blurry and all jagged while the order bar is still clean and neat.
Have to save and exit, reload and everything is fine again...for some time.

Anyone else experienced this?
Could it be my PC or graphic card tired? (Rig has less than 1 year)
Or some settings i missed somewhere? :06:

Are you using Periscope_Fix from the H.sies hardcode fixes?
Reduce speed to 5 knots.

Yes using periscope fix, but not related because even stopped, and interior/external camera too.

Updated to latest Nvidia drivers, and reset the Inspector + control panel global setting to default... so far after hours of running, no more problems...

Still loosing this damn AA after some Random playing time.
Tried many things, but no results...I’m afraid my GC is tired :timeout:

Which your GC ? I have GeForce GT1030 2GB no problem with this (SH3+GWX+ARB widegui by Brodaga)

It’s a GTX 1050 Ti, not that old...even pretty new (around 1 year).
Strangely i didn’t have any issue running SH4, but with SH3 image become suddenly blurry with no more AA after some playing time.
I have the latest driver compatible with this card.

I just changed my Nvidia settings (again) to try other way. Fingers crossed.
When it works, image is very fine and neat.

i think simple setting problem GTX 1050 Ti is very good GC sure better than mine !

My guess you are using winbloze 10? Myself and a good friend have been fighting with this for some time, this is the best we have hit so far. Cards tested so far 970, 1080ti, 2080ti. All working well !

Do you know is it possible to use ARB (of Bodraga) with CCoM 12? I'd rather use this than the CCoM version

Sure you can use the ARB instead of Ahnenerbe included...you’ll just miss loading screen, and few other stuff like charts etc, but nothing mandatory.
Nice thing is using ARB, you’ll have back all the left hand icons fonctions (UZO/Antenna/Flag that are missing with the gui included...unless bringing back ARB command english file)

Download NVInspector.

Run nvidiaProfileInspector.exe

Search in Profiles: Silent Hunter III and try these settings:

1 - Compatibility

Antialiasing compatibility - 0x004412C1 (Diablo III)

3 - Antialiasing

Antialiasing - Mode - Override any application setting
Antialiasing - Setting - 4x [4x Multisampling]
Antialiasing - Transparency Multisampling - Disabled
Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling - 4x Supersampling
Enable Maxwell sample interleaving (MFAA) - Off
NVIDIA Predefined FXAA Usage - Allowed
Toggle FXAA Indicator on or off - On

4 - Texture filtering

Anisotropic filtering mode - User-defined / Off
Anisotropic filtering setting - 16x

and Apply changes.

I have already almost the same settings, except the FXAA usage and indicator.
Will try to turn it on. Not sure it will solve the AA suddenly stopping though...finger crossed
