Needle in a haystack!?!
Hi all, just wanting to pick the brains of the more seasoned seadogs here as im still quite new. I'm currently on my 4th patrol out of Pearl using TMO and have to say finding targets is quite a test of patience, if not luck.
I was just wondering is there any recommended manual search patterns other than the one the game sets up. I go to the assigned patrol areas but rarely find anything, unless i camp a harbour. Also i know the hydrophones are chin mounted but is it better to go to periscope depth or deep for better results? Thanks in advance for any help. Happy hunting. :Kaleun_Salute: |
Go too the known convoy rutes
Search google for WWII japanese convoy rutes |

Open the radio, and drag it down to the right. There's a map attached to it, with convoy routes marked. Hydrophones work on the surface. Take control of it yourself, though. Your crew can only hear out so far, but if you do it yourself, you'll get contacts beyond their range. |

Jim, do you have a link that doesn't require me to give away all my google and fb information to unknown companies? An image would do. I run two monitors, and it'd be nice to set that as a wallpaper one of them.

TMO does fairly good with most larger scripted traffic and invasion forces. All the action early war is really around the Philippines, Borneo and down to Java as the Japanese invade all those countries. It's better to start out of Manila at the start of the war, just remember you will lose that base so have enuf fuel to head south. Long as you sink ships, you don't have to worry about war patrols.
