Silent Hunter 5 crashes on loading anything playable
 

Almost everything in the SH5 main menu cannot load. I cannot start a Historical Mission, the museum, or load/start a campaign.
I've tried the DVDSH5.exe fix, I've tried many things since Christmas.
I have tried everything anyone has ever sent me.
Any ways to get my game to a playable state?

maybe it has something to do with the mods? I was told that uplay released an unannounced patch a while back that causes any modded SH5 game to ctd.
