Getting a new boat in LSH2015
 

I get the message, whilst at sea, that a new boat type is available. When I am back in base I don't see any other boat types in the management screen, only what is available for my current boat.

Would I be correct in assuming that in order to get a newer boat you have to first transfer to Erporbungsgruppe?

Right now I have a VII B, so I am guessing the newly available boat is a VII C, even though it is Jan 40? I guess that since I am in port I could just conduct an experiment and try the transfer to Erpro and see what happens.

I think I have this figured out now. It seems you do have to transfer to Erprobungsgruppe to change your boat type. I just did a transfer, to find two variants of the Type II, the current VIIB and the IXD. No thanks, I will stick with my trusty VIIB until the C becomes available.
