Have you ever come across someone with a funny name (apart from me) and what did you do about it? I once rang a Mr Train at 2:00 in the morning from a public call box (drunk) and yelled "Choo-choo" down the phone. He was very cross

A friend of mine found someone called Zebedee in the phone book and used to ring him and say "Boing.... time for bed"

I remember during my time in tech support a British engineer in the directory by the name of Bob Sherunkle.

Never had a reason to call and see if it wasn't a practical joke..

I went to school with a lad called Richard Long, we called him Dick.

LCDR Destiny Savage USN, Chief Engineer of USS Cowpens came to my mind. When I first heard the name it brought to my mind adult film actress rather than naval officer.

I attended a funeral for a relative this week. This lady was the minister conducting the funeral service. You can't make this stuff up.:D

Some years ago now our Diplomatic Press Corp nearly caused an International Incident. There was an important Trade Deal being signed, and when one of the foreign signatories was introduced, the reporters fell about the floor laughing their heads off......the poor guys name....... a Mr Bum Suk.

If our anglo-saxon friends only knew how their names and vocabulary sound and what they mean to the rest of the world, in other languages :haha:

I knew a girl whose last name literally translated to 'Deepbottom'. She hated it.

Also, if you're thinking of naming your daughter Persephone, just know that perse means ass in Finnish.
