Hello, I'm HMS Knoxville and this is Jackass

Just a little hilarious incident I thought I'd share.

I was running a test with external camera and several destroyers hunting me in shallow waters of Kattegat. Four passes in, one of the destroyers decided to go full retard and make a depth charge run while sailing backwards... :o

Quite predictably, it blew itself to kingdom come, catching every single dropped depth charge. I've seen (in previous SH games as well) incidents with destroyers going too slow and damaging itself with DC's but this guy outdid them all.

You ought to get yourself some airplanes at the same time, and watch them bomb the DD as they try for you... :o - so the DD tried to do a run, and then the shallows caused the collision detection to kick-in. Full-reverse was called, just as the operator pulled the pin to drop the whole rack of "boom!" ... :arrgh!:

It just completed previous attack and there was another DD crossing in front of it at the moment, I guess that's what caused it to reverse instead of turning around for another run. Then AI noticed it is already moving straight towards the U-Boat so it must be the perfect moment for dropping some TNT overboard.

Haha!

Good ol' Silent Hunter AI. Thanks for sharing!
