SH5 TWOS - cannot lock target in periscope depth
Hey guys,
can someone help me? I can not lock ships at periscope depth, when i dive and use periscope the ship is no longer visible on map despite close and clearly visible. Any ideas? Thanks. |

When i raise to boat some meters, it works. But not at periscope Depth. |
A couple of things will prevent a lock:
High waves. Distance from target. |
Your horizontal scope line must match the sea level where the target is. With some little margin only. So try to center your scope correctly on the target. If you have too much difficulty doing it you may want to disable 'No Stabilize View' in the game options.

if you see the ship from the turret, it is not certain that during the dive at the same distance you will be able to see the ship with the periscope. As bstanko6 says, if you have high waves you have to raise the periscope more and you have to get closer to be able to see the ship. The visibility of a ship sometimes is greater from the turret than from the same distance immersed with the periscope. So you have to approach the ship at a safe distance in surfacing, for example at maximum speed, then you dive and at periscope altitude you should start to see the silhouette, and in a short time the ship is visible on the map. yes i know that, but scope was up 3m above the Wakes, finally i chased the ship and in the end my bow nearly rammed into the ships Stern. No Chance. As long as the Tower is submerged, lock is impossible, and also not visible on the map. |
...
Any way to post a picture here without uploading it somewhere else?

Had same issue but from what i figured it was due to fog. Had to get closer to lock when submerged

I've had the same issue. Ship was only 7000m away.

Maybe the infamous 'sticky destroyer / sticky ship' bug? You may not be able to lock such targets.

Have the same problem, have you managed to sort it out eventually?
