Winter 2018

Snowed today. Admittedly very little but for about 20 minutes there were snowflakes coming down.

STEED 11-13-18 04:31 PM

The chance of snow here is very very low.

Funny you should mention it. Snowing right now for first time this season. :wah:

Calling for snow in my area Thursday. Better get milk, bread and toilet paper.

Sounds nice. We’re usually burning this time of year.

Bookmakers in the UK are currently offering odds of 10/11 for snow anywhere in the UK on xmas day.

The weather people are touting that winter should begin next Wednesday in some areas of the UK despite some areas (Scotland especially) have already experienced snowfalls.

Neal getting snow in Texas :hmmm: last time i was there in 2013 i was told it hadnt snowed for about 17 years !

As for Canada well its pretty cold in winter with the snow but they are a hardy people

As for us brits we see three snow flakes and have to stock pile for 6 months stop all trains planes not to mention let loose every BMW to the road to crash in the annual cull.

Yikes! No MC riding for you. :wah:

We did not get autumn here at all this year. It went from torrid summer to monsoon to winter. It has been raining 6 out of 7 days since early August.

STEED 11-18-18 05:55 PM

The UK hardly has winters anymore and all we get are cold snaps and the first one is on the way.

mapuc 11-18-18 06:57 PM

Denmark's meteorological institute, have made a 3 month prediction
In this they say

The Winter will be very strict

Very cold with very little or no snow.

They have made those prediction before and from what I remember they haven't hit jackpot yet.

Really ??? where do you live in the UK ? Not Exactly a cold snap last year or have you forgot ? Amber Snow Warnings ( Stay at Home ) Remember the " BEAST FROM THE EAST"

I live almost smack bang in the middle of the custard blob as in the illustration from last year 8 inches of snow drifts up to 7 ft most parts inaccessible without 4 wheel drive ( even then some got stuck ) had this for months so lucky you The Yellow Snow is not the proverbial version incidentally

Manchester Evening News Headline 2017 "The upgraded Met Office amber warning of snow for Sunday is in effect for Greater Manchester" " areas like Rochdale , Bolton , Oldham and Tameside will possibly see heavier snow." AND WE DID !
