No Funnel smoke.
 
Hi all, I loaded the BB Missouri by bismarck1011 but it has no funnel smoke. Is there a way this can be fixed?

Conversation closed. After numerous searches prior to adding this post, I've had no luck regarding finding posts on adding smoke so I've removed the Missouri from my mods file and have added the Montana instead.

I've made the Montana career playable in Ralles RealModPack for TMO_RSRDC_OTC .

I experimented with surface water units myself last year.


Unfortunately, I was very dissatisfied with the results, it was sobering.
I have been revealed more fundamental mistakes of the game, which can not be solved easily.
Therefore probably my exaggerated reaction to this thread.

If interested, I can upload you said files, maybe you have use for them.

So - I've taken the whole bundle now and just upload it.
The dll I send you then by pn.

As I said, I was not satisfied with the results, so I dropped the project.
But maybe you find use interesting for one or the other part and make your own mod out of it.
If necessary, however, I would still have to search and provide the credits together.

We have smoke!!!

The issue was the the Data > Submarine > USA_Iowa.sim
3-bj_Funnel
4-bj_Funnel

both funnels had the wrong Parent I.D numbers. So the .sim had no links to the main ship model, and did not know where to put the smoke.

So I had to go to the Data > Submarine > USA_Iowa.dat to retreive the correct ID's from each Funnel [Cos1 & Cos2 ]

You may need to find a darker smoke effect tho. This was done in SH4 - Stock.. Hope this helps.

Very much appreciated with your help s7rikeback. I’ve corrected it on my save and works now.

I copied the particles.dat file out of TMO and that darkened the funnel smoke.

They are not compatible.
I would generally omit the particles.dat in your mod as they interact with others such as the materials.dat and the scene.dat of the particular game.

Ralles RealModPack has its own particles and materials.dat, which are coordinated.

Thanks Bleiente. You are correct. I've omitted the particles.dat file and all is good. :Kaleun_Salute:

Now to work out why the secondary cannons (the ones on the port and starboard sides) only fire for a short time then stop completely even after giving them plenty of ammo.
