Intel's ban of microcode benchmarking
Got a bit out of touch with all that, so do not know when they introduced that ban, which now they seem to take back, under pressure from an angry public.
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/in...ion,37684.html Mind you: not a single real world attack with Spectre and Meltdown has taken place so far. Prooves-of-concept have been described, but no real world attacks and abuses so far have been reported. Not one. Not a single, tiny, minor one. None. For that, accepting losses to your system's performance due to microcode patches, performance that you - and I! - paid hard cash for, sounds like a very lousy deal to me. |
