I would like to see how the ships look at night.

is there any way to switch in the museum from day to night and back?

It looks like the ships are rendered in world... so I wonder if you could watch the same ship for several hours and see if the sun begins to set.

or even see if you can increase time acceleration?

probably not, but just a thought.
