anyone know how to change the sound of a sub or at the very least..what file this is? Trying to change the sound of my 688 Los Angeles Class to not sound like a Diesel.

the current sound set with it is the one used in all the diesel subs.

OK..So...why exactly would I want it TO sound like a diesel??

You could edit the diesel sound file using Audacity, so that you can no longer hear the diesel.

hmmm I wonder if jhapprich or ETR3(SS) have a "nuke" sound?...

This would be like the movie "Airplane", where there is a 4-engined jet plane shown flying on the screen, and the sound is of an old 4-engined prop plane... :O: - ya gotta admit, that is funny... but hopefully, someone has something that doesn't kill the 'immersion' factor of a modern nuke quite like a diesel sound does... In the meantime, look in the Data / Sound folder, for "Submarine_diesel_exterior.wav" and several others with numbers. Those are the offenders. Some are in close, some farther away, some underwater, etc. If nothing else, substitute a copy of the "..._electric.wav" file, renamed to "diesel" to have that "whine" of the electrics all of the time... :salute:

Sounds like it's the version that Jhapprich made, my version doesn't have the diesel sound.

I believe it is..its the 688 (not the "688I"). What version are you using? Ive been trying to find this one but im at a loss..any idea where to download this version in the vid?

He says 688i but clearly looking at the dive planes....
Aside from that this version is all black skin where as mine has the red paint below the water line..is this a newer version of the mod perhaps? Ive gotta say i prefer the all black..wish i could get that on my ohio class and los angeles 688.

Also trying to figure out how to modify the "wake" and sea foam from another sub onto the LA class..its a near perfect model but the sounds and wake are off..trying to "complete" it to have a very fine 688..any help would be appreciated...thanks for the replies guys!

Take a look at "Dangerous Water" DL-section, there you could find the right sounds for you.
But honestly - if you prefer modern submarines, DW would probably be more appropriate... :hmmm: :up:

The boat in the video is the French Le Terrible which was based off the original 688(i) mod made by Dagon.
