There are days when everything goes wrong
Yesterday morning an old grain silo, in Vordingborg, was to be demolished.
A demolition unit was assigned to do this. Where it went wrong, they still don't know. They had calculated that it should fall to the right, but it fell instead to the left, where the top of this silo hit the municipal library and cultural center. Thank goodness, nobody was injured, only material damage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MERFrKGGiuY Markus |
Looks like they tried to fell it like a tree, but as the charge(s) went off the remaining structure couldn't support the weight of the top part anymore and collapsed straight down.

Additional information
The local police have hired an extern expert to find out what went wrong. This will, until I find the article again, be hearsay The demolition company who got the task should have "accident" in previous tasks they had. Markus |
