5 torpedos?
 

Hello Fellow Kaleuns:
A QUESTION.
So, I have just started "Turning Point" and have been through the entire war to get here. I am prompted to get a "New Command" Sub after finishing "Black Pit" and say YES! I believe I have a VIIC41 with some KILLER flak gun setup, and for the first time since '39 I am able if needed to stay on the surface and fight......All's well there, but.................why do I only have 5 torpedoes? 4 FWD, and one stern? I thought perhaps this was a "trial boat" and I would be fitted out with proper torpedo config after my first mission, but apparently not.
Is this a glitch?

No this is normal....it has also limited fuel capacities (in real life)

Skin-nl is right. I just read this last night. They ended up being a terrible idea and Doenitz scrapped the project. They were the few types of boats that had a real doctor on it though.

Thanks a heap bstanko6, and skin-nl. its a little irritating to be honest, being based out of Kiel and taking the long trip around the ever more dangerous northern corridor of England looking for convoys armed with only 5 torps. However, knowing it's not a glitch, and historically accurate for the U-Flak type boats U-51 will march on. It was nice on my first patrol to shoot down 7 Tommy airplanes though :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:

That's also the reason that ik did not want a new u-boat :D

I see, to get another boat and outfit her properly eliminated my pretty substantial stash of renown. In fact, I had to wait on the top tier radar detector (Maxos) and hold off on any Alberich or Tarmatte until I can save up a bit more again. The U-Flak was fun tho. Surprise Tommy's! :haha:
Man, I could gun down anything by air they could throw at me. The dual quad flak's, Just a BEAST.
