Netherlands withdraw ambassador from Turkey

..and will not accredit new turkish ambassador:

I guess NATO will have to think twice about the future and keeping Erdoghan's Turkey, in the alliance. Germany still thinks it is better to arrange with the dictator, while the UK just signed a billion dollar deal for armament, after Germany quit.
Apart from that, Erdoghan's war against the kurdish people has extended to Syriah, and with the IS almost finished the Kurds will not be longer supported by western glorious politicians.. tough.

Good move. Overdue.

If I'm to be totally honest here I'll admit the uk's relationship with Turkey does worry me a little at times but on the plus side, it's a great holiday destination.

Deciding issues of geopolitics, culture clash, war crimes, dictatorship and tyranny - on the grounds of holiday value?

Stay classy, Jim, I know you are much better than that.

:haha::up:

@Sky i guess (!) he was joking..

It is nice at Turkey's coast, let alone all the classic architecture and ruins.. but the Hittites are long gone..
Seriously, even my most tolerant friends say this country has become a no-go. If still going there, some places should be avoided though, and one should fully cooperate with officials and the police, even if it is being perceived as harassing (like being controlled and asked for the ID card three times by the same policemen, within 15 minutes).
I take it Britain will have a great future, with Turkey :yeah:

“There is no difference between the mindsets of Geert Wilders and social democrats in the Netherlands. They all have the same mindset ... That mindset is taking Europe to the cliff. Soon wars of religion may and will start in Europe.”
(Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu)

Geert Wilders is a special case, maybe a bit worse than Farage, but saying the social democrats are the same.. :doh:

^ Oh, please accept my humble apology then. :salute: Its just that Turkey is one of those themes where I have run out of humour.

Let alone that that is actually the mindset of many German tourists who travel there every day regardless of what happens.:/\\!!
