Glitch or just really good stealth

Feb '42, I'm closing in on a large, and very lightly guarded convoy southwest of Iceland, when I notice a submarine, in the last column of the convoy. I get close enough to ID it....and it's a VIIC, just sailing along, dumb and happy, with the rest of the merchants. Anyone else ever see this?

I've seen British subs sailing in the back of convoys.
