If all you left was a laptop/solar battery/mobile device/PC on it's last legs/tin cans or smoke signals ... :o How would you say good-bye? I doubt if anyone would survive till the power comes back on if an EMP attack should occur, but if they did that's another separate question, "What the heck happen"? My good-by :yep: Good-bye old friends I hope we won the war ... anyone know what channel to watch? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerge...lation_warning Quote:

scrawled onto the wall immediately above my rotting corpse:
"To Wong Foo, thanks for everything - Julie Newmar" |
Not sure I'd bother as long as I was with my wife and kids.

Otherwise yes, the warning would be delivered via the emergency system. Some of the points they raise (ie realiability and survivability of backbone nets) are strongly dependent on the state regulation, in Russia backbone nets (and other strategic infrastructure) are build with mobilisationary needs in mind. Living without electric power is quite possible the more significant issues would be central heating (or rather the lack of it during winter), clean running water and working sewers. |
Here in Florida we do exactly that once every four years or so as hurricanes slap us back into the stone age for a month or so. So we have practice, and if the mental attitude is good, the only long-term problem is food. And that one is close to insolvable unless you are isolated enough not to become a victim of predators.

I think most can food is dangerous to store due to the lining material, even Campbell's soup which I am really tired of anyway.
Now I hope for this new can to become available to stock up on. https://www.plasticstoday.com/packag...32593060657679 https://www.plasticstoday.com/sites/...unks-Combo.jpg Quote:
