The fire is now pretty much under control; the weather here in Southern California has been sweltering, with record high temperatures that only tended to exacerbate the fire and hinder the fire fighting efforts; however, the unstable weather also caused a massive rainstorm yesterday over the greater area of the fire and aided in extinguishing a lot of the flames. The surprise cloudburst was a welcome relief to the firefighters from the several local area municipalities and agencies, some of whose ranks were depleted by some members who had been sent to assist in the Hurricane Harvey rescue and relief efforts...
