compatibility with Window 10
 

hello capitains, after a very long time i have reinstalled SH3 (CD Version ) ... and the problem is started, SH3 don't like W10. I have tryed WXPSP2 WXPSP3 W98 and W95 .. nothing. some tips?

This is a non sequitur if I go through Steam correct?

Appreciate the links - I have followed the instruction but when I attempt to open the game I get "Can not initize 3D engine" error. Any ideas other than redoing?

Runs in compatibility mode Windows 7

You must run all your .exe applications as administrators.....(exe file in game folder)

Appreciate the reply. Managed to sort it out by just changing screen resolution doh!

Cheers, now to scrape of the years of rust and head out....lovin it!

So if I run it as admin, will I be prompted to run it in say W 7 or do we have to go to settings and such.

All I needed to do was change my screens resolution and it worked even in 1280x1024 for me.

Right-click on the SHIII icon.
At the bottom select Properties.
At the top select the Compatibility tab.
Select Compatibility Mode.
Select Windows XP (Service Pack 2). SP3 might work as well, but mine runs fine with SP2.
Click Apply.
Click Okay.

I had problems until someone recommended this to me. My problem may have been different from yours, so it may not work for you, but it's worth a try.
