new sonar contact!

Hello guys and gals!

Im new here. I came here mostly cause of jive turkeys vids about the game "cold waters". I really have a lot of fun with this game and I'd like to try some mods so ... here I am!

All I know about subs I learn from jive turkeys vids in youtube and by playing cold waters ( and the movies like red octomber ).
The only relevance I have with the navy is my being a marine boyscout on my home town in Greece. We used to have a big rowboat with 6 oars on each side , we cleaned her and took her out every now and then, we called her "Argo". We also have a navy museum on a Fletcher class DD cold war era refit over here called "Velos" and an old pre WW1 protected cruiser called "Averoff" (which is currently going through maintenance in our military shipyards for 3 months). We used to clean them and participate in memorial events. Oh oh we also have a trireme here in Paleo Faliro (my hometown is so awesome!). During the summer ppl from the navy and other experts and volunteers take her out and cruise in the Aegean sea.

If you ever find yourself in Athens you should take the time to come to Paleo Faliro and check out these ships from up close, theres nowhere else in the world you can get a photo in front of an actual ancient greek trireme ( though theres an ancient greek merchant ship in Laurio which is close to Athens) .

Welcome to Subsim techstepman. :sunny: Great Introduction as well. Thanks for the info and endorsements regarding sites to see in your country. Although there are many here with actual time and service aboard Submarines and Naval vessels, you probably have as much experience as most here.

Enjoy your time here and welcome aboard.
