Mission Impossible: Scapa flow
LSH3 October 1939
There is a mission to attack scapa flow... So I managed to get through bunch of DD's from south to Scapa flow, and now im in, waiting for darkness to fall. :Kaleun_Salivating: Ships spoted: DD's 10-15 CL's 2-4 BB's 3 and one CV :Kaleun_Periskop: Im aiming for the CV. Questions: 1)how many torps do I need? 2) How will i get out of there alive :hmmm: by the way... depth under kiel - 4 meters (periscope depth+4) :Kaleun_Sick: |

2) Don't ask this stupid question ! :O: |
Report:
So I set all torpedoes on small speed and fired them at long range, then I turned my ship to evac and ran for my life on flank speed. Managed to get out of the crime scene before my torpedoes hit the target. Damn this game is awesome! :Kaleun_Cheers: P.S. Fired 4 torpedoes at HMS illustrious with planes on board. after third hit it was completly destroyed |

Scapa
I remember doing that mission or something much like it. I used a mod called something like "decks awash". This enable you to travel on the surface but keeping only the tower above water thus making you a hard target to see. It was amazing just how close a destroyer got to me without being spotted. Due to travelling on the surface enabled better speed, full batteries in case of long underwater evasion and their underwater detection doesn't seem to work in SH3 when your on surface.
