New Member Introduction
 

Captains,

I'm David and joining subsim for tech support and fun.

I'm a history lover and subsim enthusiast. I started with silent hunter 4 wolves of the pacific and I'm playing silent hunter 5: battle of the Atlantic right now.

As many of you know silent hunter 5 is horribly flawed and must be modded to be truly enjoyed.

I own the steam version of SH5 and I'm trying to mod the game. This has proven very difficult.

I've started with a work around so that I can use the jgsme mod enabler. Not sure if it's working.

I need a lot of help figuring out how to mod the steam version of SH5. Or at least advice on how to get my hands on a hard copy.

If you've read this I appreciate it ! Also happy to be among those who love subsims.

I believe Amazon has hard copies of SH5 available. Use the Subsim link found in the quick links to get there and Subsim gets a tiny bit to help support the site.

Welcome to Subsim David. Great introduction as well. :sunny: You are correct in that hard copies of sims / games instead of the steam versions are the way to go. Peter / THEBERBSTER has a lot of experience with SH5 and would be a big help to you.

You didn't mention if you have tried Silent Hunter 3. When combined with mega mods like GWX or others, it's a great sim, still being widely played 12 years after it's introduction. Check it out if you get a chance.
