Having Trouble with GWX3
 

Hey all, new to forum!

I played SH3 years ago, and just yesterday decided to buy the game on Steam. I watched a few people playing on Youtube and read up on what was happening with the game, and saw that just about everyone was raving about the GWX3 mod.

But I've now spent about six hours over the last two days trying to get the game to run with the mod but I just can't get it right. Fresh SH3 install from steam, downloaded and ran the full GWX3 install, and activated it with JGME (forgot what it's called now).

I see some people said you need to patch the game to 1.4b, but I would've though it being the Steam version, Steam would've kept it up to date?

I really, really want to get back into the game, and would love to add additional mods, such as the resolution mod, interiors etc.. But I can't even manage to get the GWX3 to work properly.

I did get halfway through a patrol and then the game crashed.

One last thing, could it be that the game can only access a certain amount of RAM, and I also need the 4Gb mod? I have a pretty recent gaming laptop, 16gb RAM, i7 and a 960m.

Thanks to Papasmurf for the help, got the issue resolved! Was simply that I did not need to use JSGME to activate GWX3. Thanks for the the help, and happy hunting!
