Which Silent hunter do I play?

I haven't played SH3 or SH4 in a long long time, but I recently installed SH3 with the Grey Wolves overhaul mod as I hear that it is the golden standard for subsims. But alas, I always crash when I attempt to begin a campaign control. How much change has happened with SH5 in the past 7 years, is it still painfully dumbed down? Are there mods that fix the shortfalls that it had? What I am most interested in is operating my u-boat in a realistic fashion and learning/becoming proficient at manually calculating firing solutions.

Hi Skarmy
Come into the real world, where have you been, what have you been missing.
Well how about this.
A mega mod with over 100 mods in it and completely stable.
Yes we are talking about SH5.
See it too believe it.
Highly Recommended SH5 > The Wolves Of Steel Mega Mod > Includes > Optional KSDCommander And Working Enigma M4 Machine > Sub Flags

You're speaking greek, I only understood Grey Wolves X.

Make sure you've got the 4 GB patch.

Is there a way to play this mod with English voice?

If you manually backup sound (voices) files and then add them back after the installation, then yes...

I got it, thanks- I'm making great progress in my career so far :D Hmm, I'm finding a lot of Norwegian ships, what date should I start engaging them? April 9, 1940?

Yes, something like that...:yep: Their ports will turn red when that happens. Couple of days after that, Norway will become friendly (axis) nation...

Woo! making great progress. April 10th 1940 and I've sunk 16 ships for 68.4kT. Still getting the hang of plotting attacks with the manual TDC- recently I put 4 fish into a convoy sinking 1 ship with 2 hits.. I'm still learning but I feel like with practice I will catch on. I've been using a rotatable dial to judge the AoB and then grabbing the target's speed by marking its point and then watching it for 5 minutes to see how far it has gone, and then calculating its speed that way. But with multiple targets that I want to hit, things become a little faffy with angles.
