I understand the tank was refurbished . Is there any footage of the rebuild ? There is a gentleman in England who has also restored a great number of tanks and it was documented on a History show in the States.

This kind of thing is all that I miss now, not having a TV

Not to worry Eichhörnchen.

This is the rebuild of an English / British A34 Comet

Rebuild of the German Panther

Kevin Wheatcroft is the English Gentleman I spoke of who rebuilds WW2 military tanks. I understand Jacques Littlefield in the States passed away on January 7, 2009 and they both collaborated on a number of restorations.

There are many more rebuilding documentaries on youtube.

Enjoy.

Thanks for those, CW; I did catch only 1 or 2 far flung episodes of this series before we got rid of the telly

Yea but you still need a TV licence even if you don't watch the BBC on the net. :O:

No TV, No Internet panic over.

Eichhörnchen 01-22-17 09:05 AM

I don't watch TV in any form, not catch-up, not anything, so no licence required

After the initial barrage of semi-threatening letters, which I fended off with an easy sarcasm, they finally stopped threatening to send their little inspector round to check up on us... I told Moira that I was tempted to start writing to them (the TV Licensing Authority) demanding to know exactly when he was coming, so we could bake him a cake :haha:

^ The cartoon has some meaning in multiple directions :03:
I guess Edward Abbey knew what he did, but the photo ... argh.

Two of my friends have intentionally destroyed their TV, one indeed shot it in his living room, the other threw it out of the window.. :yep:

Perhaps a pointless bit of nitpicking but did they mirror that photo? I thought the driver in the 34 was on the left side and not on the right as seen in that photo. Very important in battle you know, to know which side of the battlefield to drive on.
