So I downloaded sh5 and try ro run it, off of steam. It keeps trying to redownload microsoft redist file, then it goes the updating luancher makes a sixth of the way and then stops. Really confused

well, I redownloaded the game to see if that would help and same problem.....I kinda wish I didn't buy it from steam as it seems that all they can do is fail...so to members of the steam dev team or who ever.... I hope you choke on a chicken bone...

Still no joy, did a fresh reinstall to try what they said on the forums, the game dosnt even start it gets to the updating launcher part then it dissappear and then the play button is rehighlighted.

update: got the updater to load, but now ubisoft message states service interruption. agh >.<

Pressing the Esc key should remove that message.
Another option is to download a new game launcher.
The one one in my tutorials can be downloaded anywhere.

update: I got it to work, but I'm running into that problem where the tonnage does not count towards goal. owell I'm just stoked that I even have the game running.

Tonnage Bar and Campaign icons are broken in the game.
These have been removed from all the SH5 mega mods.
I recommend you give TWOS a try.

Most used solution (worked for me). Find and copy Steam game key and redeem it on Uplay. It will re-download the game and will work for sure. If you still have compatibility issues, set the game on Windows 7 comp. Option.:Kaleun_Salute:

I actually did that, as well last night but no avail.

I thoughts twos dosnt work with steam sh5?

I tried doing that, one of the files wouldn't download, and another part I couldn't even access. But magically tonnage started to count lol.

The downloads showing on 1, 2, and 5 are all working.
I am not aware of any problems since updating.
Did you notice the link to the Virtual Machine?

when I download the virtual xp, and try to install it, the exe tells me that its only supported on windows 7, I think do to my windows 10 I wont be able to go this route, I'm still trying to search around, while sh5 plays its obviously broken, ergo I don't have any new mission and my current game time is mid march 1940
