US NAVY - PORTLAND-CLASS HEAVY CRUISER
With all respects to the community I'm glad to propose another converted for Silent Hunter 3 ship from the excellent FOTRS 2.0 mod - US Navy's Portland-class Heavy cruiser.

Let me to express thanks to AOTD/MadMax and the excellent FOTRS team for original model of the ship and to Isinchievici and Buc-bgpatrascu for USN guns library. d\l link: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...01&postcount=1 Best regards, Stefan :salute: |

Thanks for the conversion.
A few comments on the rather complex model history of the Portland class. Ubisoft had a model of the Northampton class with Silent Hunter 4. That model was converted to SH3. In 2011, I did a re-work of most US cruisers converted from SH4 to SH3 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ght=US+cruiser), including re-mapping and new textures. MadMax used the re-worked model of the Northampton class as base for his model of the Portland class and I donated the textures, including the Measure 32-7D camouflage (your picture 2). Also please note, the guns_USN2 library as used by MadMax is based on a library file I did for SH3; most items therein are simply re-texture SH4 models but there are also a few of my own creations, such as the "5inchSingleO" (placed on the hangar roof). MadMax provided a FOTRS_README.rtf file, where he gave detailed credit to all contributors. I suggest reading that file :03: Cheers P.S. the cruiser has a nice wake :salute: |
Dear Mr. Frog,
First of all let me thank You for Your kind comments. Your US Cruisers mod is admirable and excellent and I use it in my home mod pack with pleasure and many thanks. Please accept my apologies that I didn't put You in credits. Unfortunatelly I didn't know that You created the mentioned files for FOTRS. Stefan |
Hello Stefan,
no worries. As I stated, the history of the model of the Portalnd class is rather complex, with several conversions from SH4 to SH3 to SH4 to SH3. It is not easy to keep track. Cheers |
So thanks to all !!!!!!!!!
Great work. |
