I have a hankering to make a new video
Many mango seasons ago I got one of my videos on You Tube muted. It used the tune Echoes off Pink Floyd's totally unknown Meddle album. Probably was exposing people to the album who never dreamed it existed. Surely it motivated some of them to seek and purchase the album. However, someone at the record company wasn't going to tolerate advertising and urging people to buy this great album.
They DCMA'd me and muted the sound. Fine. I redid the video and pretty much forgot about it although I've never bought any more Pink Floyd music. Too much good stuff out there where they don't act like thugs. But not I've found a piece of music so compelling that I have to make a video with it. It's Dream Theater's cover of Echoes, and it's just great. Dream Theater is famous for doing a concert, vanishing---lights go out--then come back on when the band comes out and covers an entire album of another group. They've done Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Metallica....every one they do is as good as the original. And they realized that there was a market for "bootleg" recordings of these cover concerts. According to You Tube they allow their music to be worldwide in You Tube videos. They might tag an advertisement on it to monetize it, but I say good on 'em. And it encourages them to treat people fair. Prince was a pig about his music. He sued left and right to keep people from hearing his music. Why make it then? He would have sold a lot more and been known and loved by many more people had he not been a pig. Now he's a dead pig. It's a shame. So it's 12 minutes long. What kind of Silent Hunter video should I make? I'm thinking of making one about conventional PK/TDC targeting, but what do you think? |
... with radar too?? You gonna do ole reliable GFO, or somethin' else?

Hi RR
How about replacing this old tutorial video with something of better quality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYmQoe_LYEM I think this would be appreciated by any newcomer to SH4. Peter |
I think that a conventional PK/TDC targeting video would be a good idea because it seems like most newbies to the US TDC method - especially those coming from the German system are lost when it comes to the SH4 fleetboat TDC.
You do have a talent for making really good video tutorials RR, so whatever you decide to do will be most welcome. Thank you for taking the time to make your YouTube tutorials - they're to the point, easy to understand, good music, plus you have the voice for it. Happy Hunting! |

Use of the conventional PK would be very helpful.

I think I'll also do one on conventional PK use too. That is always a sticking point from those who come from the dark side :arrgh!: of U-boats and try out the fleet boats. It's a huge barrier to their enjoyment of SH4, so we'll cover that too! |

I'd appreciate any video you make, it was your Dick O'Kane method video that helped me understand how to fire my fish manually in SH4.

Hi RR
Even as bad as that video is it helped me immensely when I first started with SH4 because of the map work. It would just put the icing on the cake to show properly how that map work comes to fruition. I still actually have it in my bookmarks, watched it numerous times and took notes from it so I knew exactly what I needed to do. Peter |

FOTRS Ultimate is a harsh mistress! It's been a demanding week for the project and I'll get back to this video as soon as we tape the mod back together, put a quick coat of Krylon spray paint on it and stick her back in the water!:D:D
|
Don't use water-based paints though...:doh:

@RR
Try to make the video with my mod compilation. I think, under certain weather conditions, there is an overrun attack. In addition, the graphics should be surprisingly good. Perhaps in this way my work still makes sense. greetings :Kaleun_Cheers: |
