Duskers
I'm curious if anyone else has tried Duskers?
I got it a few months ago, and I've been playing through looking for all the things that you have to find. (worded it this way so as not to spoil it for anyone else...) Managed to work out a SOP for the game, similar to the way I do for any game. Just wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on it... Barracuda |
I guess not....:haha:
I figured a game where you can't see anything, and you are reliant on "sensor input" to determine your environment, and work out a plan of action so that you may continue on your way (to do it all over again) would be a big hit with sub-simmers... :hmmm: Maybe the typed controls are a bit overwhelming... It's one of those "survival" type, but it also a "figure it out" type.... What happened? How? Why? You control your salvage drones to explore derelict spacecraft, and salvage the supplies and fuel you need. But there are "hostiles" on board some (read: all) of those ships, and you have to figure out how to "work around" the problem. But quickly, a rupture could lead to the ship getting flooded with radiation, meaning you need to evac, NOW. Which can lead to rather hurried pecking on the keyboard. And dead drones. It's best described as "a single moment of calm boredom, and a few minutues of pure terror. Every 5 seconds." Then you may need to click the "reset" button! Barracuda |
I never heard of this game but thanks for posting about it, I will give it a look.

A few days ago I decided to start a fresh game of Duskers.
And I'm in the second star system checking the derilicts for info, salvage, etc. I have the "noise" turned up (to simulate an old, poor quality screen), and I think my new monitor is trying to 'scrub' it all out. My last monitor showed more of it when "noise" was set to low, than this one is showing on high...:hmmm: But, still loving it, first run of Duskers in a few years. And I'm trying to remember all of the buttons. I remember my sucsessfull strategy, but appearently not the buttons. Or how to spell in this thread. And sometimes the game. There was an update a while back, so I'm checking to see what they may have changed. Barracuda |
Maybe your graphic card force own antialliasing / anisotropic filtering over game settings?
Btw Duskers is really good game with deep gameplay and very good replayability. |

I doubt it, the only thing that changed is the screen. It is still the same system and Video Card that it was when I played before. I may have to adjust the tv settings again. Or it could be the game update from a few months (or years) ago. Back to it! Barracuda |
