What are the capabilities of a veteran crew on a destroyer or escort. Knowing your enemies capabilities can determine tactics.

all ratings being equal, it's more the equipment and weapons of the platform itself..obvious destroyers usually go faster, hardly a problem unless they're chasing you on the surface and depending on mods, some dd's carry radar. when u run into a flock of type c escorts with 6 y guns and double roll offs, you'll wish you were up against a destroyer. obvious it's mods that determine the visual and gun ranges of each. overall destroyers in the game aren't the big concern as are many of the escorts.

That veteran crew can find you if you're silent in 400 feet of water. Best to not even attempt to engage.

At midnight on a moonless night in the middle of a typhoon they will still
find you.

you actually have no clue what their rating is, although mods tend to follow a pattern...they will only find u on the surface during a storm if one ship has radar to guide them to you, ...if you have tmo and some other mods, get the apr radar detection...when you don't have it, keep an eye on your radar screen and keep hitting the sonar nearest warship which will usually send you a message of one fast approaching...

even submerged in a storm with a mod like tmo with high winds veteran escorts are virtually deaf
