SH2 gog windows X

Long story short, spent a boatload of $ on a gaming laptop.

Not only will it not play the intro movie, nor the eric topp interviews, but it also won t display Sh2, in full panel stretch screen resolution. Doesnt matter if the native resolution is set to 800 x 600, or 1920 x 1080. Theres annoying borders around all sides of the screen, which apparently dont show up in a screen shot.

The display adapter is integrated, intel hd with a geforce 970m 3d accelerator. The only display options under nvidia control panel are 3d. Dont have access to resolution or panel fit display settings.

Therefore any resolution settings are handled by the intel hd control panel, no matter which card i set as the default, creating custom profiles in nvidia wont allow for resolution settings either.

Tried contacting gog. They had me install direct x 10 redistributables. Tried microsoft knowledgebase. A user there suggested i try a program called voodoo 3d or something. I tried this right away becuase thiis unwanted display abberation is happening in other pre direct x 12 games too. Sadly, Norton flags this as a heuristic virus in sonar & scans though so that isnt good either.

Fellow skippeers, anybody offer me some advice that will allow me to run the gog version of sh2 in full screen display, in windows 10.

It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :Kaleun_Cheers:

Pacific Aces (installed over SH2) seems to need Project Messerwetzer, maybe it will help your SH2. I'm running on Win 7 just fine.

Good luck.

Updating windows X to the anniversary update appears to have fixed the problem!

Have to get into display adapter settings, full panel stretch, then override application settings, that did the trick.

MS message boards were riddled with topics about old games not scaling to full screen.

Apparently MS finally did something about it, although i did also DL alot of direct x redistributables for various games, this not being one of them.

There are still other games that need 3rd party software to get games to work. Nox being one that immediately comes to mind.

Thanks! :subsim:
