"Achtung!! It is STEED... He iss on ze bog again wiz hiss laptop..."

I'd like to know where are you when you usually tune in to Subsim... are you banished to a little shed at the bottom of the garden or, like Reece, do you have to wait patiently for your turn on the computer in a pungent queue at the Old Folks' Home?

I've recently set up a computer station in one corner of our dining room, which also has the telephone right here, too.

Wherever my laptop and I happen to be. Also, from my desktop at work.

I live alone, in an apartment. My computer takes up one corner of my living room.

My model-building table takes up another.

My guitars and amplifiers are behind me in what is supposed to be the dining room.

My books are on shelves all over the place, and in piles all over the place, and in boxes all over the place. My comic collection is in the bedroom. My model kits are on shelves in what is supposed to be the linen closet.

You could run a mini government from there Steve. :)

Cheeky so and so, isn't time for you to take your medication. :stare: :O:

I rarely use my laptop on line as I never done any updates on it for the simple reason the poor little lappy is only 20gigs. Desktop is my main work horse.

I needed an extra chair. It was $10 at the local Dollar Store.

Good solid cheap chairs that last longer than those office chairs. I went a few of them before trying a garden chair and never looked back. :)

This is my den of iniquity or man cave as the family (especially my daughter) calls it. Some (or at least one) would have you believe this is where all the SubSim nefarious plots are created before implementation.

You'll have to excuse the dust but not even the wife ventures inside this room whilst doing the housework.

To me, this is my own personal fiefdom, a home/retreat inside the home.

Wow, Steve you must have used the same interior decorator as myself. Now I don't feel so unique: guitars and amp?... check; books?... check; model kit boxes?... check; computer corner?... check...

The books in piles I have taken one step farther as I have a goodly number of them in boxes, which I have numbered and cataloged in the event I should need to find a particular volume. I have been trying to weed out some of the books, but I always run into the reasoning of "Well, I know I haven't opened this book in [insert number of years or, even, decades here], but I just might need it some day". I am sure the book on Japanese tea rituals will be very vital to someone in the near future...

I also have boxes of VHS tapes, audio cassettes, and audio CDs that I haven't unpacked since I moved into these digs about 6 years ago...

Now I know where to send G.I Joe and his crew if they want to upgrade to some heavy duty aircraft and helicopters.

My building has a room with extra storage closets for each apartment. Mine is full of boxes of still more books. Most of mine are the result of working years ago for a book distributor's warehouse. Books that couldn't be sold to bookstores and universities because of damage were written off and put in a big bin. The restriction was that employees could not take more than three books per day. Poor me. My plan was to read them, then give to a library or a friend who wanted them. Twenty years later I still haven't started on that. I'm too busy reading the books I just bought.
