Hydrophone questions (not about finding range, speed, etc.)
 

Hi! First of all, I'm not completely new to SH (played both 3 and 4). I just got SH5 and installed The Wolves Of Steel mod. In the few hours that I played, I noticed that the hydrophone operator is dumb as a retarded rock.
When there's only one contact, you can tell him to follow nearest contact or warship contact, and he will do so without problems. But what should I do when I pick up 3 warships all around me, and I want him to follow the farthest one, because that one is coming in my general direction and I actually have a chance of intercepting him??? When I click on "follow selected contact", he reports, that there isn't any or it's too faint, but he just reported it 10 seconds ago. He also suggests that I should switch on the GHG device. Do I have to do this manually, or is it automatic?
I mean how am I supposed to get 3+1 bearings and calculate intercept position in time when my sonarman wont even report him when I want him to? Oh and I'm at 45m, standing still, and got the contact bearing around 90.
