The main problem for me is that I believe that old movies and franchises are better left alone. Indiana Jones, Blade Runner, Alien, ... just leave them be. They are movie history and will be, forever, great movies. A new Alien, no matter with what actors and from what director and with what script, will never fit in. It is a new movie. New look, new feel, new everything. Movies also "capture" the time they were made in, no matter how hard a director tries to hide it, or twist a genre... And this feeling of a time period can't be faked or manipulated, hence it won't work. May sound weird, just how I feel about movies in general and kinda hard to explain... |
