Blizzard doesn't mess-around

Here’s Why Blizzard Is Already Banning Thousands Of Overwatch Players

Quote:

It seems Blizzard isn’t one to go back on its words. Last month it promised that it’ll ban any cheaters or hackers in Overwatch, and there will be no second chances provided. Fast forward to now, only a few days after the game’s official launch, and it’s already coming good on its promise by banning thousands of Overwatch players.

That’s not all, however. A PC Gamer report mentions that Blizzard is banning cheaters not only once, but several times. This means if you’ve cheated, buying a new copy might not be enough. Several users are reporting that Blizzard banned them again after they bought a new copy. A few even tried buying a 3rd copy and yet they got banned within 24 hours of playing the game.
:k_rofl: Impressive!

As it should be, it's called a ''Ban'' for a reason.

:yeah:

Why cheat at a computer game?

Some cannot win unless they do. ;) Seems like there are many of them for this game.... and others before it.

I hope blizzard keeps at it and continues to ban people - I never see the point in cheating, why are they even playing?

Hope other companies do the same - this is one of the reasons why I don't MP much.

Blizzard gives out temporary bans and permanent bans for its games.

Most notably Diablo 3 and of course WoW.

Depending on the severity or frequency of offense, they will either straight up perma ban or for example for botting, induce a temporary ban which, for example in D3 recently, they gave thousands of accounts a 6 month temporary ban for botting.

If it is a stand-alone/single person game, who cares about cheaters.

But if it is a multiplayer game, then cheating does have some effect on the other customers/players.

I am glad Blizzard is addressing it.

I think it is awesome that these cheaters are paying for multiple copies of the game and still being banned. More money for Blizzard at the cost of cheaters.

Can't see the downside for this.
