How to play cooperative campaign/missions?

Hi!

I've been searching the forums but did not find the needed info.

I was interested in the possibility of playing cooperative campaign or missions with other people (campaigns preferred) because if this is possible I could make that 2 friends of mine could install the game and play with me.

So these are the questions:

Which one of the SH saga is the best for online playing? I've read in other forums that SHIII shoudl be the choice for multi. But SHV is the sim that the 3 of us have.

Is it possible to join an online mission via the Multiplayer option on the main menu? Or is another software also needed?

Do we all need to have the same mods installed/enabled in order to join the same session?
