Azerbaijan vs Armenia

This one has been rumbling on for a while in the background, but seems to be coming to a bit of a head this year with over a hundred soldiers killed on each side during border clashes.
More concerning though is news that Azerbaijan has announced that its armed forces are being put on full combat alert.
It's probably nothing and this will just simmer back down again as it has done for the past two decades, or perhaps this time they'll actually go all out.
Given that Turkey has large support for Azerbaijan and Russia for Armenia, this could be a good proxy war for the two.

Oh great, another war!! With Columbia deciding to use their military against armed criminal groups down there,, including air strikes, this is looking great for the defense contractors all over the world. Got to go make some popcorn, going to be interesting to watch the action, lol

It could amount to nothing, let's face it, there's been more than a couple of near misses between India and Pakistan in past years (and we're long overdue for another), not to mention the continuing drama that is the DPRK, but given who the supporters of Armenia and Azerbaijan are, it could spin out into something a bit more serious as Turkey tries to get one back at Russia for Russia managing to keep Assad in power this long.

Yeah, Turkey wants to give Putin a black eye if they can, that's for sure. But whole thing could spin out of control quick!

The trend seems to be for proxy wars these days, so I doubt that there would be any actual cross-border exchanges of fire between Turkey and Russia itself, but 'little green men' might well show up armed with the latest in the Turkish and Russian arsenals.
This way allows both Russia and Turkey to go at it without having to formally declare war or declare casualties since these people will be 'volunteers'.

Whilst relying heavily on the fact they are a NATO member.

I really don't trust Turkey all that much these days.

So we have two ongoing conflict where Russia and Turkey is fighting by proxy

The question is, in which of these two conflict are the chances highest for a direct battle-contact between these two countries ?
( it sounds grammatically wrong)

^ I doubt that will happen because both know there are far reaching consequences for each should that happen.

I have been known to be wrong before though :03:
