Range table for UZO

I'm going over some documents for the UZO. And there are range tables for 6x UZO.

I need one for maGUI F, which is 7x. Or a formula suitable.

The formula for 6x is: mast height x 1000 / mils x 4.

I have played with this formula to get it close for 7x but no luck.

Hi, with fear of seeming like a nooby, can someone explain what the range tables are and how you use them.
Thanks Bert.

With fear of being wrong but I assume they are talking about the quick reference card that cross links mast height, tick marks on the UZO and distance to target. (Been ages since I used those but IIRC you ID the ship, look up the mast height, then read off the UZO the number of "ticks". Look at the table a find the column for nearest mast height, find the row with the nearest number of tick marks and you get an approximate distance to target.)

As for the formula: I use MaGui WS but assuming they have the same magnification, I use mast/tan(ticks/7.5) = distance which seems to give me a good enough distance. Could be you should use 7 as a factor but 7.5 works for me.

If you have the red night attack scale too, that one is (from the upper solid line counting down), scale value x 10 x mast height = distance.

bertiek, the tick marks and range tables are used to determine range. If we know the height of a ships mast, then the tick marks are used to tell how far away it is.

In the chart addon you take the mast height, and follow up the line to the tick mark and it gives a range.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try
