So getting the game on Steam is not recommended, correct?
Just wanna make sure. Is the Gold Edition download on Amazon okay though? Is that one compatible with mods and everything?

Hi CF
Anything other than Steam is ok. Dvd would be the preferred choice. Peter |
Agreed... anything but Steam. DVD is best.
Use the link thru SubSim for Amazon and get it there. It helps support SubSim. ;) http://www.amazon.com/?tag=cyberknight |

OUCH OK so.... I use STEAM and just purchased a pack which includes SH5 which I am trying to get working.
First it tells me that some service is unavailable. Now its saying it's already running. (That's a lie!) So I come here and find out that it says not to buy on Steam? I'd appreciate if anyone can let me know if the Steam version is actually OK and how I'd go about getting it working. I've had a bit of a look around and can't find anything that is relevant. I am running Win 10 and my PC well exceeds the required specs for the game. Thank you. PS. Hello everyone ! |

i don't suggest to buy the steam version of the game ..... u will end up having problem to use tdw's generic patcher which one is really important cos fix 95% of the game bugs ......u can use all mods with the steam version of the game there is no problem at all the problem comes when u wanna use the patcher as i have said above..... better buy the download version from amazon or dvd version.... they are not expensive at all around 10 Euro i have no clue how much cost in RO. |

I use the Steam version and once you get over the pain of creating your own non-Steam sh5.exe which you need for the patcher, you are in the same situation as anyone else I think.
