Submarine Damage problem

I've got a problem where no matter how badly my submarine is shot up, the damage will not show externally on the submarine like it used to. This happens both with and without mods. If anybody knows a fix for this, that would be great, thank you.

Regardless of what you do, visible damage is just eyecandy, having nothing to do with the gameplay damage the submarine has suffered. In a properly working game a submarine with a giant hole blown in the side can submerge just fine. You can enter the damaged compartment and see the walls where the external view shows a gaping hole. So much for reality!

But sounds like your game is somehow messing up here. What you'll have to do is reinstall the game from scratch to get rid of whatever system problem is causing this. You might be able to trace the exact cause and fix it but by that time you could fix it with reinstallation ten times.

I keep a write protected SH4 Pristeen directory on my hard drive. When I get mod soup or game wackiness I just uninstall all my mods, delete the contents of my Wolves of the Pacific directory, copy all the files from the Pristeen directory to my Wolves directory and then write enable them.

Then in a couple of minutes without actually having to reinstall I've fixed the problem.

Click Options, Graphic Settings, check the settings. Ship 3D Damage should be all the way to the right, and possibly the texture quality and ship normal maps might affect it too.

Mods sometimes remove the damage visual.
