[WoS] 4 bearings tutorial - no hydrophone contact
 
Hi!

I remember from a long time ago when I tried the four bearings tutorial, that it worked perfectly.

I recently reinstalled SH5 with the WoS mod, and now wanted to do that tutorial again (note that I don't have realnavigation installed (yet)).

When I do the four bearings tutorial, everything goes well until we have to hunt a ship. The tutorial assumes that my hydrophone picked up on a target, but instead I get the message that there is either no contact or the signal is too faint.

Anyone know what might be wrong?
Is this because I don't have realnavigation installed?

Hi Waervyn
No, it should not make a difference.
You need to be down around 30 metres to get a decent hydrophone contacts bearing.
Sometimes a faint contact can be a ship moving a long way from you.
Slow moving contacts around 5 knots can also be a problem sometimes.
Quite often you can pickup more than your Sonarman does when you operate it yourself.

So at this stage the game should:

Inform you that it will sync time (this sets the contact in the correct location for the tutorial)
TC will set to x512
At 03:01 the TC will switch to x32
At 03:10 the TC will switch to x1
A hydro sweep will be carried out

Can you confirm that the above is happening?
