Annoying little bug here.

I got those mods installed.
TMO 2.5
RSRDC TMO edition
OTC 1.5 for TMO/RDSC
Operation monsun

Problem is well EVERYTHING works fine but some idiot on my **** keep saying 'Passing thermal layer' every damn 15 seconds. wich is annoying. all those mods has been installed as instructied by its creator

dashyr 01-30-16 01:41 PM

....Stopped as soon as I got farther in the sea. I guess the thermal layer in that area was close to the surface. Never mind everything is fine.

It's either a bug or a feature depending on how you look at it. For some reason, the game, when restarted from a save, will repeat the last few bits of spoken information. It will do so to the point of being irritating, then stop.

It can also glitch and do that if you Alt/Tab out of the game.

Alt/Tab can also lead to other issues... After surfacing, CO2 will continue to increase and batteries will drain, watch crew won't get on deck, etc.

I wont alt-tab :P tanks for the advice.

I occasionally find that windows will alt-tab for me. When that happens I save, exit the game completely, then load that save. That usually clears everything up.

When I just get back to the menu and load the save from there I frequently end up on the wrong side of the day (sun up at midnight and down at noon) and other random glitches.

Good hunting!

well op monsun is a very involved mod and ads so much content that it can slow down things in the game so its best not to use it unless you are actually going to be playing the german campaign. leave it uninstalled until you need it, and likewise, uninstall the other mods and leave them out of the game before installing op monsun

dashyr 01-31-16 02:04 PM

Well ill keep that in mind. But so far ive encountered no other issues. And I play german too. i just switch once in a while. pretty much why i keep all installed. less of a hassle this way.

But so far no loading time issue. Maybe the fact I run it through Wine explains it.

The only issue I have is with fire and smoke not properly working. (explosions does thought)
But, that's a Wine issue. Nothing I can really do except build my own patched Wine wich would be easy if I ran a 32bits system. But on 64bits it takes a bit more and I dont want to bother with it.

On occasion, when I make a save, thisa occurs on reload, its a SAVE bug only. Make a save, then run for few mins and make another, one will work always.

one mentioned before but I lost it:

removing the annoying crash of life raft against hull when dropping agent or supplies. Where is it again to remove sound? :/\\!!

Operation Monsun should not be added to your list of activated mods.

TMO 2.5, RSRDC for TMO, OTC for TMO & RSRDC.......were not intended to be used with OM.

Actually, Ducimus (the creator of TMO) had little regard for the German side of play, and has little to offer for it. I created OTC to be as equal as possible for modifying both the American and German side of play, however it was not intended to be used with OM. Lurker_HLb3 created both Run Silent, Run Deep Campaign, and Operation Monsun....but he didn't intend for the two to be combined together either.

If you're wanting to play the German side of SH4 v1.5 within the Atlantic Theater, by all means use Operation Monsun (with its various patches and versions....I think there are five). Leaving the combination of TMO, RSRDC, and OTC for the American side of play.

======

To the point of your first post regarding hearing repeatedly "Passing Thermal Layer"......it's a known game bug that has never been squashed.

As was pointed out, never use the Alt-Tab combination with the game. There's no reference to using this "Windows" keyboard feature within the game manual for a good reason......don't do it to return to the desk top while the game is running. Save the game and exit out completly.
