We really need a feel good story

Stray Dog Saves Newborn Baby Thrown In Dump

A stray dog in the Brazilian city of Campinas is being hailed a hero after saving the life of a newborn baby boy whose mother had tossed him into a dump like trash.
A stray dog, likely searching the dump for food, found the hours-old baby, his umbilical cord still attached, and carefully carried him to the closest house, gently handing him over to the nearest human for help.
They rushed the baby to a local hospital where he is now being cared for. Doctors told seomaslasanimales.com that the baby boy was unharmed by the heroic dog. In fact, had the dog not found him when he did, it’s likely the newborn would not have survived.
Thanks to a stray dog, with more compassion than the infant boy’s own mother, the baby is doing very well and expected to live a healthy life.

I hope someone takes care of the dog.

I wonder if this happened in the US, would someone have immediately shot the dog once they found it carrying a baby?

I don't know, the US always struck me as a dog friendly nation.
Except for your cops

This is a great story. There have been others where dolphins protected people in the water from sharks.

There was also the story of Yambo the Gorilla in Jersey Island, England trying to take care of an Injured 5 year old child that fell into a gorilla enclosure.

Ironically, some animals have more regard for human life than some humans do. And they call them animals.

Hopefully the newborn child will be ok and I hope someone gives the heroic dog a home. The dog deserves it. That would be a good dog I think.

Great story Platapus

Great story. Luna survived 5 weeks on her own after swimming ashore and will be reunited with it's owner. :yeah:

I love stories like this as well. I know there are a great many here who love animals, us included.

Another story I read is that Sea world will no longer be breeding and keeping Killer Whales in captivity. It's about time. The Oceanic Biologists had said the Killer whales in captivity were exhibiting signs of being extremely stressed. I have no idea why they would be stressed having been captured from their parents when they were young and forced to perform in a water circus. I'm glad Sea world caved in to public pressure.

I was going to post a funny monkey photo in here, then I realised it said 'feel good' story and not 'good feel' story. PM me if you want to see the picture.

Hallsville officer rescues puppy from sewer

http://www.kltv.com/story/31550752/v...ppy-from-sewer

Quote:

HALLSVILLE, TX (KLTV) - A Hallsville officer rescued a puppy that was trapped in a sewer Wednesday.
While on patrol, Officer Parker Sweeney heard the puppy whimpering near 4th and 5th streets in Hallsville and removed his gear to provide assistance.
Police Chief Paul Montoya posted video of the officer and the adorable pup he rescued on social media with the caption:
"HPD Officer JumpStreet heard a puppy whimpering and was able to find it in the sewer by the 4th and 5th. Officer JumpStreet took off his vest and duty rig and jumped into the sewer to rescue the puppy. Both, Officer JumpStreet and the puppy are doing well. NO. Chief Montoya couldn't rescue said puppy due to an engineering over site..... Apparently Chief Montoya is too "healthy" and couldn't fit."

The officer and the pup were unharmed. Sweeney later took the puppy out for chili dogs at Sonic and the pup then passed out after a rough day. The department said the dog has found a home with one of the school district's LadyCat softball players.

Residents lauded the officer's efforts late Wednesday, with some offering to donate clothes and toys for the pup.

Cheers to a job well done, HPD.
