New subsim Dev don't know where to post this
Hello guys i've recently been thinking and a idea came up in my head and i would like it to become real so i was playing sh5 the other day and the amount of bugs that are in the game and the lack of support from ubisoft i thought why don't i and few people make a new game which is basically the same as sh5 but be more stable and realistic etc. The first problem i ran into the funding for this type of game would be immense to a point it would be impossible but i then thought about this community and considering the amount of modders in here i thought id ask if anyone would be able to help for free for now until we was able to get a kick starter made and the game release. The second problem i ran into was where in the market this game would sit considering it would be made by a indie dev team. And the 3rd problem i ran into was how long it would take.
so guys if your willing to help please email me @ endeavorgamedev@aol.co.uk or comment below but ill be inmore contact with emails as i dont check this that much sorry if this is not alloud just thought it would be the best place to ask and see how many people would be interested |
Why go to all that trouble when there is The Wolves Of Steel mega mod that now makes the SH5 playable.
The SH5 engine would make it impossible to have a 100% perfect game no matter what you did to it. Peter |

I think there are considerable reasons for a spiritual successor to be made for a game like SH5. The mega mod helps but SH5 is still a game that was rushed out of development and is unsupported by the publisher. On top of that the publisher is toxic anyway.
If a new project was started by some devs that want to work on it there would be a whole host of benefits if said project was successful. For starters, it would be just that, something that is supported by a team that wants it to succeed. Secondly, it would benefit tremendously from running on a newer engine with all of the bellls and whistles that would entale. I could see Unreal Engine 4 being a great fit. A game like SH5 wouldn't be doomed from the start because of its size or complexity. That has nothing to do with it, it would be completely up to the skill and determination of the dev team. Finally, I don't feel that money is the limiting factor. There are plenty of free or cheap ways to get things made, or at least to get a good working prototype that could be presented in a kickstarter to attempt at getting funding. Unreal Engine 4 and Unity are awesome game engines that are completely free to use. The limiting factors are designers, artists, and developers who are willing to undertake a project. Sorry to post late on here but this is exactly what I have mentioned before in this forum. Also I am a game designer so it caught my eye and made me want to throw my two cents at it :O: |
