CTD on exit to main menu
I've started a new career with the Western Approaches campaign. Finishing the VII C training drills, I returned to Kiel, and exited to main menu.
However, the game CTD'd taking, all the ship's journal data with it. From a gameplay point of view, this really doesn't matter. But it's still annoying, and while the VII C training drills are a basically identical experience for everyone, it's going to be especially annoying once combat begins. If I sink the Queen Mary or Ark Royal, I'd like to have some proof that it happened, without having to open up Bandicam. Any idea for a fix for this? I'm running the latest version of Wolves of Steel, with the 16:9 mod, as well as the A Fist Full Of Emblems, Equipment Upgrades mod AFFOE compatible (all patches), Might Fine Crew with alt faces and beards, and the latest version of TDW generic patcher with the vast majority of patches installed. I only have around 50 GB on my HDD at the moment, maybe that has something to do with it? |
Oops, accidently wrote 'A Fist Full Of Emblems' as 'A Fist Full Of Arrows'

Never had such issues...
Disable unsupported mods, restart new campaign and see what will happen... Quote:

Come to think of it, the issue could well lie with a mix of the TDW patches and my computer's specs :hmmm: |
Hi Cybermat
Is just your way of explaining things? Quote:
Do use CTRL+F8 to check your frame rates as Kiel is notorious for bringing your frame rates right down? Where you using a low TC at the time? Peter |

And you're right about Kiel being a frame-rate killer - I'm more scared of that place than I am of a RN taskforce :D |

Does your game CTD without additional mods on board? If Yes, than maybe installation is corrupted or maybe some system problems? |

Hi Cybermat
My advice would be to always make a manual game from the bunker. Quote:
Had you have made this manual bunker save it may or may not have worked depending on your circumstances but this is what I would advise any gamer to do in any case as if it had would it would have overwritten the AEB save and you could have used that manual save to get back to the bunker again. As regards to CTD's if you are getting them in your game then this will be down to the additional mods added and removing them will prove one way or the other whether this is the case. TWOS is extremely stable as long as it is not abused. Peter |

I also just discovered that I can manually save the ship's journal, so now there's no problem at all with the bunker CTDs :D |
