Crash when loading mission or close to port.
 

I am back again to one of my all time favorites SH3. However this time around I am experiencing constant game crashes. The game crashes(no error message) when trying to load into a new patrol/mission. Load bar gets to about 80-90% than crashes to desktop with generic "this program has stopped working message". If I keep reloading the game with any luck it will load the mission. Than It seems that once at sea all is well but than more times than not when getting close to a large port the same kinda of crash will occur.

I have played SH3 in the past many times no problem and with more mods than I am using now. The only difference this time is Win 10. Have played since '06 so many xp vista and 7 installs in the past and never had any issues.

I will try to detail some info.
1. Saw was on sale on steam and despite onwing the disc purchased the game installed with mods experienced same type of crash.
2. Uninstalled steam version.
3. Installed from disc.
4.1.4b update
5. no cd /startforce removal tool
6. GWX 3.0
7. 4GB patch
8. a few other light mods
8. SH3 commander. and GWX sh3 commander cfg files.

I have since uninstalled the disc version and reinstalled to try and solve the problem and tried not using any mods(or one mod at time and adding one at a time). The game continues to crash or fails to load. Really at a loss of what to try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I guess I should mention that I have been able to play and complete a few missions with out any issues, but I constantly save In case it crashes during the mission. I seems I spend more times loading the game and hoping it does not crash than actually playing it.
