Natalie Cole, who won a Grammy Award in music has passed away at the age of 65 . the Grammy-winning daughter of Nat "King" Cole" who carried on her late father's musical legacy and, through technology, shared a duet with him on "Unforgettable," has died. She was 65.

Natalie Cole , like many others was inspired by her own famous father, the great Nat King Cole. Natalie auditioned for her father when she was 11 but sadly, Nat King Cole succumbed to lung cancer on Feb 15, 1965. Natalie was 15 when he died. Nat King Cole was known for his silky smooth baritone voice which translated well into genre's like swing and Vocal Jazz. Decades later, Nat king Cole's voice is instantly recognizable on many songs such as the "Christmas song ". Natalie Cole Followed in her father's footsteps and in 1991 did a " duet " with her late father performing one of Nat King Cole's best known hits, " Unforgettable ". Natalie also did " When I fall in Love " again with her late father. These duet's were facilitated by modern technology and overdubbing. Natalie Cole won a Grammy for her efforts. Natalie won Grammy awards for her other musical endeavors as well.

When I fall in love ( Natalie and Nat King Cole duet )

In a 2000 autobiography, Angel on my shoulder, Natalie Cole detailed her battles with heroin, crack cocaine and alcohol addiction for many years. Like many recording artists Natalie spent time in rehab centers as well.

{quote } When she announced in 2008 that she had been diagnosed with hepatitis C, a liver disease spread through contact with infected blood, she blamed her past intravenous drug use

Natalie had battled recurring health issues since that time.

Deepest Sympathies to her son Robert Yancy and sisters Timolin and Casey Cole.

Rest in peace Natalie.

A great voice gone, just like her dad. I hope they can be together and sing up there.

RIP Natalie. You are "Unforgettable Too".
