Silent Service 2 (SH2) - External view zoom question
Hiya
I fired up SH2 yesterday. Loaded quite a number of mod goodies for this goldie of an oldie. I have a question on the external view zoom: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5737/2...4bcce21c_b.jpg Q1: The zoom with Control-Up or Control-Down arrow keys are limited. I can't zoom or unzoom all the way. For example in the image above, I have already zoomed the maximum zoom. Yet, stock vanilla SH2 limits the amount of zoom one can do in the external view. Bummer. How can I zoom or unzoom unlimited, all the way, so that the submarine completely fills my screen? Any hack of the sim.ini file to achieve this? Q2: I enabled the sim.ini, once the sub is submerged, to allow one to view the sub in both below and above the waves kinda-view. That is nice when checking out the charging destroyer and the already crash-dived sub. My question is this: when the submarine is surfaced, with the external view keys, I cannot view it from underwater, looking up towards the sub. Is there any way I can view the surfaced submarine in both above and below the waves kind of view? Cheers Captain Frankie Kam Malaysia |
Silent Service 2 is not the same as Silent Hunter 2
You got them mixed up: http://www.subsim.com/ssr/sh2/review..._hunter_ii.htm http://www.subsim.com/ssr/service2.html Can't help with the actual questions though, sorry. |
Hi Pisces
Thank you for pointing out my confusing title. Yes, it is Silent Hunter 2. BTW, this post is related to what I was asking: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=191651 Unfortunately, as the old timer Sailor Steve mentioned, there is no free camera in SH2. Only the external view that is tied to a ship/submarine. Thanks for taking the time to reply anyway. Cheers Frankie Kam |
Hi Bl1tzkr13g
Thanks for your reply. I have just finished installing SH5 and have added the Steel Wolves (SW) mega-mod add-on with SW patch 1.4. Even with mods like SW (that is a compilation of 100 mods), you still returned to SH3? Please explain because I am curious. Maybe something along this line: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=221154 ? In the spirit of sharing, Frankie Kam |
