making a default deckgun

I've been trying to figure out how to set the default deckgun on the different classes of subs in SH4, so many times the game sets it at a stern gun and I prefer the bow gun. any ideas guys?
also have been looking at how to get the twin 40s early in the war, even with the later towers installed early I can't get the upgrade.
I know that alot of what I have done to the game is not real-its still fun.:06:

To quote Dick O'Kane "I don't care if my gun is mounted bow or stern so long as it's on rollers so I can roll it over the side.":D:D

thanks Sniper297, I thank you so much for answering my question about the default deck gun and not just being anti deck gun.
I did manage to figure out how to get the twin 40s so that question is answered. again thank you.:salute:

Main problem I had is that a WWII sub is mainly a submersible torpedo boat. Submersible for a good reason, it's not really designed to slug it out on the surface. 4"50 deck gun with two single mount 40mm BOFORS will actually sink quite a few unescorted merchies, so what I ended up doing was reducing the ammo load for both:

4"50 - 100 HE, 25 AP
40mm - 200 HE, 80 AP, 800 AA

Limiting the ammo forces me into a more realistic style of fighting, maybe 3000 to 5000 tons per patrol (or refit) sunk by gunfire with torpedoes being the main weapon. Trick to cheating is not to cheat TOO much or it ruins the game. I'm an incorrigible sinner, when tempted I fall. :arrgh!:
